Paper vs Polypropylene: Which Sticker Material?

4 October 2026

Choosing the right material makes sure your stickers last as long as you need them to. Here is the difference between paper and polypropylene.

Gloss paper stickers

Best for short-term use Paper stickers suit packaging that is used once and thrown away — takeaway cups, food boxes, bags and sauce pots.

Bright gloss finish All our paper stickers are gloss, giving colours a bright, clean look.

Where paper is less suited Paper is not designed to stand up to moisture, handling or time, so it is not the best choice for products that will be kept, chilled or washed.

Polypropylene stickers

Built for the long term Polypropylene is a plastic label material. It is designed to cope with water and wear far better than paper.

Ideal uses - Jars and bottles - Chilled or refrigerated products - Products handled often or kept for a long time
